Mother's Day (or any occasion) Gift Idea

When I asked my mom if there was anything she would like for Mother's Day she said "Can you make all of this go away? I can't sleep at night." Although I cannot make the pandemic situation disappear, I realized I could help her sleep. I decided to make a sleep kit for my mom filled with all the best goodies: a pajama set, eye mask, satin pillowcase, pillow spray, melatonin, and essential oil roll-on.

Many people suffer from sleeping troubles, and this gift idea may be perfect for your mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma, neighbor, friend... you get the point.

The best part of it all - I found everything online from Target. Read below to see what products I included in my mom's sleeping kit. Click on the photos to be brought directly to product's page on the Target website.

Satin Pajama Set

This 3 piece satin pajama set is the perfect way to remind your mama just how glamorous she is. For $25 it includes drawstring shorts, a short sleeve button up top, and a matching eye mask. It comes in this light blush pink color as well as black. While you're at it, get a set for yourself so you and your mom can match.

Melatonin

Melatonin is a non-habit forming, drug-free sleep aid that can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Natrol's Melatonin Advanced Sleep has a time release formula. The outer layer dissolves quickly to help you fall asleep and the inner layer releases slowly throughout the night to help you stay asleep. This $8 bottle includes 75 tablets. I've been using this brand's melatonin and I highly recommend.

Essential Oil Roll-On

Although you can diffuse essential oils using an oil diffuser, you can also apply them to the skin to promote relaxation. However, be sure to use essential oil that has been diluted in a carrier oil to prevent irritation of the skin.

Oilogic's Slumber and Sleep Essential Oil Roll-On includes lavender, chamomile, mandarin, orange, grapefruit, and bergamot essential oils that have been diluted with jojoba and castor oil in one easy to use roll-on formula. Simply roll oil on wrists, temples, bottom of feet, or behind ears and let the relaxing vapors get you sleepy. The brand Nature's Truth also makes a great roll-on essential oil.

Satin Pillow Case

Satin and silk pillowcases have become very popular as of recent. There are said to minimize hair frizz and reduce static, as well as prevent wrinkles, keep skin hydrated, and reduce acne. The brand Slip offers a $90 silk pillowcase with great reviews. If you are looking for a more budget friendly option, Target sells this $11 satin pillowcase that comes in a variety of sizes and colors.

Aromatherapy Spray

This sleep aromatherapy spray can be used as pillow mist, body spray, or room spray. The essential oil blend is formulated to sooth your senses and provide tranquility. It is 2.4 ounces and is $7.
